![]() ![]() I need to get some class room time but how can you do that when you are working seven days a week just to keep the work going out. I know I could be doing things better and faster. I have been using M/C since the Mid 1990's and am self taught. I am still going back to using X6 but gradually using X9 more each day. I don't care for the lines and colors or I just haven't taken the time to set things up the way I want them. The interface is pretty much the same but the screen looks very different. I recently got back in the groove and updated to X9. I have been off maintenance for three or four years and was stuck at X6. I'm Confused Master Cam 2017.? are you referring to X9 ? or did I miss something. They might want to spend a big chunk up front and own it outright forever. Say they went with $300/month, that is $3600 a year, so that is like 3.5 years or so to 'pay' for a 3 axis seat? I don't know, of course that is from my own perspective with my money I want to spend, might be a different scenario for job shop or production house. Why not offer a sub, at least then the parent company is getting a steady revenue stream, vs the once in a while big ticket purchases. ![]() BUT, I figure when I get HSM more or less "learned" I will probably feel like "Ya, I might be able to do xxx faster in Mastercam, but I can do it here so why pay more.?"Īs to the piracy issue, I agree completely. ![]() I am not looking away from Mastercam because I don't feel like it performs well relative to the money, I am looking because of what the other poster said, is Mastercam worth the $$$$ price tag, compared to a MUCH cheaper option.? I don't have that answer at the moment. Well the cost is exactly the problem! It is not relevant (to me) if Nx, Esprit, Gibbscam, or whatever cost the same, still too much for me.
